Roqué, who has been described by Dr. Henry Périer as “a sculptor of postmodernism”, will be making his presence known at the Biennale with his “Inside”, “Between” and “Be Careful”, three sculptures with a powerful expression exclusively created for the site that the Biennale has reserved for them in its halls and which as a group have taken on the title “Inside Inside”.

For his part, Xandri will be showing Alma compartida, an installation that features forty of his paintings, which are suggestively supported on the floor, in some cases upside down or stacked one on top of another. Though seemingly random, these configurations challenge the traditional canons of painting and force the viewer to move physically or simply to make use of his/her entire imagination.

Andorra and its three participations at the Venice Art Biennale

Whilst Andorra is one of the countries that has most recently begun to take part in the Venice Art Biennale, the country’s participation has definitely been prolific.

A total of seven artists distributed among three different celebrations of the event have represented Andorra, promoting not only the country but also and most importantly its artistic works and personalities.

Artists Javier Balmaseda, Fiona Morrison and Samantha Bosque, among others, have travelled the long and hard road of artistic creation to Venice, all the way from Andorra.
