The Parish of Encamp sits in the very heart of Andorra. This is one of the country’s high-mountain parishes, with a surface area of 74 km2 and a population of 13,084. It is made up of two main town centres: Encamp, with an average altitude of 1200 metres; and the town of Pas de la Casa, which sits at the French border (Department of Ariège, in the Midi-Pyrénées Region), at an altitude of 2400 metres and stands out for its many and diverse shops, restaurants and businesses. Both Encamp and Pas de la Casa are located literally at the foot of the Grandvalira ski slopes.
