More than 39,000 people have already received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the Principality of Andorra, which represents around 61% of the vaccinable population. Among them is the international model and official ambassador of Andorra Sotheby’s International Realty, Mark Vanderloo, who received the first dose of Pfizer on Monday, June 14.
These days, around 24,000 people have completed the vaccination process, which represents approximately 38% of the vaccinable citizens. Thus, the incidence of COVID-19 in Andorra continues to decline, with only 61 active cases.
No mask in open spaces
Continuing with the good news, the Council of Ministers approved, at its meeting last Wednesday, to eliminate the obligation to wear a mask in outdoor spaces. The Principality's Minister of Health, Joan Martínez Benazet, announced a few weeks ago that, if epidemiological data continued to evolve favorably, this measure approved in April 2020 could be abolished.
Although the measure has come into effect immediately, from Health, people who have not yet been vaccinated are asked to be jointly responsible, and even that they can continue to use the mask in open spaces if there are many people. This will continue to be mandatory in all interior spaces.
