Sales of apartments in the Principality of Andorra up 4.5% in 2015
21/01/2016

In recent declarations to the country’s press, the College of Real Estate Agents and Property Managers of Andorra confirmed that, since the economic crisis began back in 2007, 2015 has been the first year in which an increase in flat sale has been recorded in Andorra, amounting to 4.5%.
Competitive flat prices in Andorra
Ms. Sevé has confirmed that, between 2007 and 2013, the flat sales sector in Andorra underwent a drop in prices of some 40%, a trend that has bottomed out over the last two years. Another interesting piece of data left by 2015 was the increase in domestic buyers, people resident in the country.
Demand for larger flats in Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany
On the other hand, Ms. Sevé also confirmed that the location of these sales has shifted towards the country’s central parishes, i.e. Andorra la Vella and Escaledes-Engordany, rather than parishes at a higher altitude.
Moreover, another trend identified during the last financial year was the increase in demand for larger flats, with 3 bedrooms or more, particularly in the central areas of the country.
With regard to the future, the forecasts of the AGIA (College of Real Estate Agents and Property Managers of Andorra) have been positive, given the background to 2015 and the context of the nearest major cities, such as Barcelona.
