The Carmen Thyssen Museum celebrated, on March 16, the long-awaited opening of its museum in the Principality of Andorra. The opening ceremony was attended by Olga Gelabert; Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports and President of the Museand Foundation, Baroness Carmen Thyssen; Vice President of the Museand Foundation, Guillermo Cervera; Curator, Artistic Director of the Museum and Curator of the Exhibition and Trini Marín; Consul Mayor of Escaldes-Engordany.

The first collection exhibited has been “Escenarios. From Monet to Estes, from Trouville to New York ”, a selection of 26 works of different formats from the 19th and 20th centuries. The Carmen Thyssen Museum has 400 square meters and is divided into separate rooms: the exhibition hall, the lobby, the shop and the Edu Carmen Thyssen, an educational space reserved for schoolchildren.
The Museum has the most advanced technology, with four 46 and 55-inch touch screens that represent a large online catalog for the visitor.
The place where the Museum is located, the Hostal Valira, was built in 1929 and became a reference point for luxury and personalities of the moment. Pau Casals or Kubala, among others, stayed there.
