Last Friday, the 3rd Andorra Landart Biennial was inaugurated, with the presence of all Escaldes-Engordany authorities and Mr. Xavier Espot, Head of the Andorran Government. The works will be installed in the natural environment of Engolasters Lake, until September 14th, 2019.
Organized by Reunió de Papaya, Mr. Pere Moles, curator of the Biennial, explained to us that: “Andorra is an unbeatable place to host an event of this kind. It has all the essential elements to carry out this artistic discipline: a natural landscape of great beauty, resulting of its geographical location at the heart of the Pyrenees, and an artistic and architectural heritage of great cultural value. »
In this 3rd Biennial, Andorra Sotheby’s International Realty sponsors the artists Caro Pérez and Belén Sanz, for their work “EYE THAT SEES, HEART THAT FEELS”. The artists explained the idea behind their installation: “Shinrin-Yoku, the practice of ‘forest baths’, have led us to the creation of this work, that is a synthesis of what happens to us when we come into contact with nature. What enters through the eyes in the forest cures us, enriches us, renews our inner self… The senses play a key role, and in this work we wanted to pay homage to the eye. ‘Eye that sees, heart that feels’. We are what we see, we feel what we see, we remember what we see, we learn what we see… and even further, we cry when we see, we get excited and we feel. The eyes allow us to marvel in front of nature. For this reason, the work represents a great eye, created with elements of nature, immersed in the forest, in movement. The mobile structure leads us to emphasize the Wabi-Sabi concept: the beauty of the imperfect, incomplete, alive, evolving.»
We invite you to enjoy the Biennial and visit the exhibited works set. As well as encourage you to explore the country’s natural landscapes, visiting all the corners that make this territory a unique experience for all senses.
