With this ambitious statement, Andorra Airlines was presented last February, the new Andorran airline that in the future will connect the Andorra-La Seu d'Urgell airport with Madrid, Palma, Porto and Paris and, in subsequent phases, with England, Germany, Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands.
With this new service, the Spanish company founded in 2015 will not only improve the displacement of the country's more than 70,000 inhabitants to Europe and their connection with the rest of the world, but will also offer a service that was previously unprecedented, facilitating the arrival of visitors. from much of Europe. In this sense, it should be noted that Andorra is currently receiving an average of 8 million visitors.
Flights with 40-70 passengers
During the first launch phase of the company, Andorra Airlines will offer weekly flights to European destinations with an aircraft rental service. However, the company's short-term objective is to acquire the latest Atr42 and Atr72 aircraft models in order to provide the service with its own resources.
Between 102 and 214 euros each way
As stated during the presentation ceremony by the president of the company, Jorge Soriano, Andorra Airlines will distance itself from the 'low cost' concept, since, as indicated, “we want to become a competitive company adapted to the profile of both family and client. of business". In this sense, the tickets, which will be marketed through the Amadeus platform once the sales system has been implemented, will range between 102 and 214 euros each way.
Strengthen Andorra as a ski destination
As the company foresees, the scheduled routes between Porto and Paris will improve Andorra's competitiveness as a ski destination, while the flights that connect with the capital of Spain will be more focused on the family or business audience with regular or charter flights.
