Santa Coloma is one of the 3 towns that make up the parish of Andorra la Vella, along with La Margineda and the capital that names the parish. It is located on the right bank of the Valira River, just before the capital, entering the country from the south, and without any visible physical reference that can distinguish one from the other. The church of Santa Coloma is one of the most outstanding jewels of the Romanesque in the Principality of Andorra and one of the oldest temples of the territory, which dates from the tenth century. An important historical heritage recovered in 2007 by the Government of Andorra after the paintings left the country in 1930 to Berlin museums and private collections. What one can see in the church is a baroque altarpiece of the eighteenth XVIII century and a medieval sculpture in polychrome wood of the Virgen de los Remedios.
Even older is the Castle of Sant Vicens d'Enclar, probably from the the ninth century IX, of Visigothic period, that can be found after a small effort walking that will be rewarded by the views and the discovery of the fortification. With a rectangular floor plan and a square apse, it has a terraced bell tower with a circular floor plan, such as the church of Santa Coloma.
In Santa Coloma there are the M. Janer High School, with a Spanish educational system and of Christian education, French primary schools and the specialized school of Nostra Senyora de Meritxell, which offers a wide range of specialized services and resources with the objective of promoting the development of the disabled within society, thus contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of these people.
The House of the Russians (Casa dels Russos), is a historic house in a modernist and noucentista style built by Cèsar Martinell in 1916 and magnificently located in Santa Coloma. It is currently used as a second residence and is part of the cultural heritage of Andorra.
